Of cut flowers purchased, 54% are roses, 25% mixed flowers, 11% carnations and 10% other single flower types.

Of roses purchased, 69% are red, 8% mixed colors, 6% pink, 6% peach/salmon, 5% yellow, 4% white and 2% other.

Who's buying for Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Day floral purchases by gender: 66% are made by men and 34% by women.

For whom are they buying?

While men buy mostly for romantic reasons, women use Valentine's Day as an opportunity to show they care to mothers, daughters, sisters and friends, as well as their sweethearts. Women even treat themselves on Valentine's Day.
